What is the science behind anti-aging creams?
How does it work? I found that the antioxidants in the work cream to neutralize the oxidation of the skin from free radicals that damage collagen, but … What can we say? Please help. Thank you. :] Thanks for the replies, all! They are very useful. :] I'll keep this issue open for some time for more input. Oh, and this for a presentation in AP Chem. My group and I have a fair share of research down, but I want to see if we missed any significant reaction, collages, or whatever. Thank you again!
Vitamin A (retinoic acid) should be the anti-aging components, but generally they not put it in sufficient quantity, because it can easily be overdosed. So much money they collect from customers for only a little concentration of the active substance. You can get antioxidants Vit C and Vit E. Any green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits Vitamin E, etc. – Vitamin C Vitamin A – Vitamin A carrots (depending on concentration) works by encouraging your skin cells to renew themselves (ie, shelter), or by telling them to make a difference. The collagen in your skin needs Vit C.
