I boiled water on my stove and it exploded!?

Hi, I was tempted to boil water, last night on my stove. I remember commenting me that it takes longer than usual to cook – it was like crazy, but not boiling steam. Suddenly the water exploded straight – and whatever water in the Pot boiling away on the left began happily. I assume that somehow the water was overheated (which I can pass in the microwave, know). But on a hot plate? What happened? How can I prevent this in the future? By comparison, I went with a stainless steel 2-liter pot, tap water, and an electric coil stove. Directly before cooking, I had the pot washed with detergent and a scrubby brush, rinse well, and then filled with hot water.

This is a rare Certain. Too bad you do not get it on video! Most sites talk as it is impossible to happen on the stove. I would recommend stirring the water occasionally Cheque and blistering on the bottom of the pot. No bubbles = extreme caution.
