"Ionic Detoxification": Fact or Fiction?
My friend tried this ionic Detoxification Foot Bath "procedure on his homeopathic Doctor's office. He says it really works, that it actually frees the body of toxins. He wants to go and buy one now. I read it on and it seems to me it is a total fraud. What do you think? remember Alleged ions (positive or negative charge, can I) are released into the water through the machine, then enter your Body through the skin circulation, where it in to toxins, and then the toxins "Backed out through the feet into the water, changing the Color from water clear to brown, red, orange, green or black, depending on where in the body of "toxins" came.
Sounds flaky for me. What if the toxins? Did your friend get measurements before and after? Was there any kind of statistical hypothesis testing? The toxins were reduced to a level too low enough to significantly reducing the effect of these toxins? In 99.9% of homeopathic cases the answers to these questions is no, or I do not know. Without direct evidence, you can not make credible a claim either way in a circumstance like this. But of course, to stop the lack of facts is not … the person tried to sell it you. The sad thing is that some of the snake oil may even be harmful, so is the Food and Drugs Act was originally created.
