familial hypercholesterolemia?

I just want some evidence of familial hypercholesterolemia. I think I have this condition than I to the first time, had fasting bloods taken the cholesterol for when I, 18 years old and my cholesterol was extremely high, then 15yo. I had tested my cholesterol again and in July 2006, it was not surprising mother 7.6mmol / l. Mine are on simvastatin and several other family members statins. I will see a different GP see it as not happy with which I am, they keep telling me to try harder and come back in 6wks-three months for another cholesterol test. I eat a low fat diet, Movement, take Fish Oil capsules, and I am not overweight. I began Manager cholesterol tablets from a health shop two months ago and my cholesterol is down again on. Could I have some advice.

You ask a good question. The short answer is that you discuss this more with your doctor local. My understanding is that at least 75% of cholesterol is determined by your genes, only 25% is so changed by diet / exercise, etc. In the case of familial hypercholestrolaemia, there are a genetic disorder in the production and how the body manages cholesterol, and you are never alone it down with a diet. So if you are really doing this condition, You will likely need to contribute to medicine, your cholesterol levels. By the way, most people have with family hypercholestrolaemia usually cholesterols above 10 mmol / L
