Liquid Glucosamine Chondroitin

Glucosamine and chondroitin supplements for 77 years my grandmother. Advice please.
My grandmother was a pain knee (knee injury when she was struck by a car several years ago and then underwent surgery … do not do anything for her because she still feels pain and a feeling of "grinding in the joint.) had a tumor removed, with a significant amount of bowel about 10 years ago and was told a doctor that liquid supplements are better absorbed by it. It is on the verge of diabetes (if not diabetic) … Can glucosamine supplements help? What dose? Is there an option of cash available? Can anyone recommend something to help my grandmother to keep your mobility? Thank you.
