Psoriasis?
I have psoriasis and I want to know if any vitamin will help? I do not want to take prescription drugs because they want one to give me lowers your immune system. If anyone could help me in any way, I really like appreciate it.
I have had for 46 psoriais year and the one thing I know for certain there is no magic cure and no one single thing you can do to help. A lot depends on the type and severity of psoriasis and location of lesions. topical treatment is always the first port of call – creams lotions, potions for during and after the shower / bath and there are millions out there its a matter of tryuing to see what works best for you. Keeping the skin moisturised is essential. UV light treatment … work in a tanning bed extent but if your psoriais is severe you may be offered PUVA DMARDS – like the drug sulfasalazine, methotrexate is the old tried and trusted starter drugs can be effective. It is true that they lower the immune system but the nature of how they work. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease after all. There is no proven link to any dietary factor although some individuals find that eliminating certain food groups can make different. That is very much a trial and error in personal matters but should always be discussed with your doctor. If you eat a balanced diet you should not need additional additional vitamins. Looking after your general health and well being is essential. There is evidence to suggest that the flares can be triggered by excess stress or certain infections. There is a wealth of general information out there and some self-help groups. You can find things that work for a while and then become more effective … unfortunately the nature of the disease. I wish you luck on your journey … and many resmissions along the way.
