Vitamin Dosage

What is recommended dose of vitamin A before pregnacy?
I am trying to concieve As of now I am taking a multivitamin tablet that contains 6000 Mcg or 1800 IU of Vitamin A I heard that taking high doses of vitamin A is not suitable during or before pregnancy Can anyone tell me the recommended dosage vitamin A? What I am taking now is too high?
I'd ask an OB / GYN because they always ask if you are taking multivitamins and supplements. Mine is least. Good luck
