What is the most effective for a period of maximum weight loss?

I read interval burns running into fat better. Not sure. advice please. also what I can expect results every week of the race. about 3 once a week for 20-30 minutes. I havent raced in a while why I am not from a batch. and I do not know if it helps, but I am old, 16 years and a woman.
